I read an article once about how in the States in the New England areas we talk now more like they did in the UK when the Pilgrims arrived, and in the UK they diverged to talk differently. If that's true, can you imagine the way we'll talk in 200 years with the acronyms? ICOI, AIR?
See I think this is a perfect use of "IMO" and that is exactly why I have a problem with acronyms. I wouldn't wanna be in the line of fire when someone rolls their eyes back and starts shouting "IMO, IMO" cause I mistakenly thought they were about to get opinionated
A wonderful experiment!! As one of the youngest fiction writers here, I'm both proud and horrified that I knew what each acronym meant without the translation 😂😂
