dear mystery 
it dawned on me I haven’t slept 
without you since I handed you the keys
to my dreamwork
our teamwork keeps me up to date
but I’m sleeping late so I don’t miss you
 
I’m future 
you’re past 
in time we’ll be cast in carbonite memory 
you love me 
I know 
so why don’t you treat me repeat me 
would you complete me
logic says you’d fall short 
and I’m already cut 
my attributes predetermine my value 

but we can still share
the universe holds us both in its infinite
together apart 
together apart 
forever apart
would I 
could you 
should we
never
or will we ever set sail 
to pass in the night
two ships eclipsed and gifted sight 
to see what’s wrong with the progression of our song
we may lose our way

can you say that again? 
once more from the gut 
I know what it means 
but not if you mean it 
don’t clean it 
I want it unwashed unpolished untamed like a billowing flame that stays 
cool at the center 
you enter me 
here 
where I’m open
the window is small if you blink you might miss it
you’re only young once dammit so what 

so no going back so no moving forward 
you’re safe in my limbo I’m lost in your words
spark of the heart forbidden ignited
remain in my darkness 
my love unrequited 
dark knight of the soul white light to behold over mountains and haze we’re too set in our ways to embrace it
to chase it
and then to erase it
forget and regret so we stay here unmet 

unturned 

      unbroken

            unknown 

                  unspoiled
           
            and

unspoken
