Candy was a fun one.

Thx.

I enjoy that POV a surprising amount.

Boys become way less icky (and way more fascinating) when I'm inside their heads.

Empathy loves company. πŸ’›Β―\(Β°_o)/Β―

Love to see my little face in thereπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I didn’t expect that. These were lovely pieces, made richer with the imagery. I wish all your pieces were as visual! You really are a master at choosing stock photos.

Thanks, Andrei! And thanks again for the lovely commentary on The Better Man. When Stock Fiction was born, it was all short fiction inspired by a photograph. I've pulled away from that a bit and adopted more of kitchen sink vibe (as in everything but the). I do sometimes miss the simplicity of that story production process. Considering revisiting it this summer, while I work on oh, too many side projects behind the scenes.

"Candy" and "What Remains". Perfect examples of whole stories in just 50 words. Wow. You make it look easy, Meg. I know it is not. And compelling is the very word you want.

Thank you, Sharron. Still grateful to have discovered you and your writing through Justin's campfire gatherings. What a fun way to meet people. Through the sharing of tiny stories. πŸ’œ

Thank you, Mark. I like that one, too. It's been a while since I visited Justin's Friday scene. This post reminded me to visit again soon.

Love love love your writing range! I can't pick a favorite between Candy (for the pining) and Colors (for the, well, colors), so let's leave a like for both of 'em πŸ’œ

Thank you so much, Malayka! What's nice about teeny stories is you can pick more than one at a time to πŸ’œ. 😊

Candy is fun but not quite right. The others are really good.

I loved these haiku and tiny fiction pieces! Thanks for the shoutout! My favorite haiku is this one:

indentations where

you slept resist reshaping

nothing can fill them

Thank you, Justin! And I love 50s by the fire. I've been a no-show across the board on Substack lately - a sad side effect of my quest to unplug and focus my brainwaves on big picture projects. But I hope to swing by for the next prompt gathering. Keep 'em coming!

That makes two of us, Meg. I haven’t been around all that much. But it feels wonderful to unplug a bit!
