Greetings Stock Fiction family.
The following lyricism was written by me during my brief stint as an acoustic rock musician. From a date I can’t remember to 2020(ish), I was in a band called Two Days from Monday with my best friend from high school’s husband. We didn’t make it big, but we had a lot of fun.
And I was having and raising babies in the background the whole time.
So, it’s not surprising that one of those babies inspired this song.
Here’s a sweet little demo I dug up. I hope you’ll listen while you read. 💜
The first time I held you It felt like a brand new day The breaking of sunlight In the distance as the clouds gave way I can stand here on my own Knowing you are not alone And watch you shine Each moment, so precious It can never be replaced The warm breath of summer Washes over when I see your face I can watch you walk away Never asking you to stay And let you shine Shine, shine Son, shine I’d take a fall to help you climb Your dreams are mine Son, shine It can’t last forever But I won’t ever have to fear goodbye The tight rope that binds us Is not so easily untied Whatever path you choose to roam Let it always lead you home Where you were born to shine Shine Son, shine I’d take a fall to help you climb Your dreams are mine Son, shine 🎵🔥🎵🔥🎵🔥🎵 Shine Son, shine I’d take a fall to help you climb Your dreams are mine Son, shine Shine, shine Son, shine You go your way, and I’ll go mine You’re doing fine Son, shine
Thanks for listening.
And Happy Mother’s Day.
Wonderful! Happy Mother's Year, Meg. ❤️
Sweet.
