Thank you for sharing. Beautiful!!! I have a Son Shine. Happy Mother’s Day. And maybe, just maybe, record that again. It’s just perfect for gifting on a day like today.

Thank you, Tinabeth. 💜

This song made it on two of our recorded albums, https://twodaysfrommonday.bandcamp.com/track/shine-2

but TBH, I like the demo version better. 🙂

Okay.

1. I never really read these words before, how beautiful......

and

2. That's twice already today that my progeny has (have?) made me cry.

3. And the third time this week but the other time was from laughing...

I am a very lucky mother.

This is beautiful:

"Shine

Son, shine

I’d take a fall to help you climb

Your dreams are mine

Son, shine"

Thank you, Rolando. It was nice for me to revisit this song and write the lyrics out from memory. If I wrote it today, I don't think I'd write it any differently than I did eight or nine years ago. ☀️

You have a nice voice and the guitar does some unexpected rhythm moves. Do you let your son listen? I kind of assume that musicians’ sweet songs and brutal songs are kind of equally off-limits to kids —- like, I imagine you finding yourself not too different than Trent Reznor thinking that your music might be better for your kids to hear when they’re much older…

Thanks, Wil.

Actually, we "played" my son's second birthday party, so he's heard this one. 😉 It's a little bit of a bummer I'm not still playing because my kids are actually old enough now to stay up a little later and attend a dinner hour gig. If memory serves, they may have come out to hear us play at a fair or farmer's market or two. My partner (on guitar) still plays - solo now - and he's doing really well. Guess I was holding him back. 😊Or maybe I had bigger creative fish to fry elsewhere. Either way - glad I have my "was in a band" card to throw around. It was pretty cool.
