"So, while I could spend the next year re-formatting my stories into a book, begging for reviews and fighting for algorithmic attention on Amazon, or chasing down literary agents in a brutally competitive, uphill race, I’d much rather spend that time writing new stories. " This is exactly the way I feel, Meg. Exactly. I also know how painful it is to drum up paid subscribers. You did a fine job of this pitch. I am sold. Women writers have to help women writers.
Thanks for the shout out, and kudos for this solution and your courage in taking the leap. I have a question that may simply be that I didn't read the pitch carefully enough, but will the book be available as a print, ebook that we can load on a device, or just on this website.
You're most welcome for the shout out, and thank you for the question, Mary Lou. Wording this whole thing just right was a challenge, as you can imagine. And the fancy book cover (that I couldn't resist making) may have thrown you a curveball mid-pitch.😊But the crux is, the stories will continue live here on Substack - published - so the one-time payment is for everything that is currently published here - PLUS, anything and everything I publish here moving forward.
I do hope to have a physical/ e-book or two to share with the world at some point. Perhaps a novel! I have a few of those waiting in the wings. 💜
Thanks, and of course I will keep nudging you to think about bundling a few of them together to put out as ebook, since I found that having stories available on substack didn't preclude people then going out and buying them as reasonably priced ebooks!
Great decision, Meg! Your work is valuable, which is why I paid for it. I hope many others choose to do so as well.
Fingers crossed!
I see a very long, very cheesy, thank you note in your future.
Or several short ones.🥂

So grateful for you, Sharron! Let's keep on keepin' on...
Where is the upgrade button????
You don't get one because you're already a paid subscriber. 😊 And my mom.

I welcome any and all nudging from you. Thank you!
Congrats to you on all fronts, Meg! This is very inspiring, and I applaud you for having the courage to take that huge swing.
You’re going to knock it out of the park, my friend!
Here’s to the next year and beyond. 🥂
Thank you, Justin! Here's hoping I'm better at metaphorical baseball than actual baseball! 😉🥂
I’ll look forward to watching your talent grow even more.
Cheers, Tom! 🥂
