Oooo poetry, and of the self-indulgent kind to boot! I love it, Meg! I really felt this one, especially with the formatting. Emotional from beginning to end.
I love this poem! I love how it has the cadence of a horror story. I think everyone should write more poetry. There is something magical about indulging in that kind of writing and thinking from time to time.
I loved this poem, Meg! It’s gripping...something about the formatting/structure had me from the first line and didn’t let go. Excellent writing, as usual! We have to indulge every now and then, don’t we?!
I really liked it! I found myself needing to read it a little slower to enjoy the nuance of the positioning of your sentences. It made me think, “who’s behind the veil? I think it’s me?”
Wow! That’s intense.
The poem or the waffle?
Oh, the poem!
I know. I was just razzin' ya. 🧇🍓🍁
Incredible energy conveyed from beginning to end. I love poetry that makes you feel it --and The Veil delivers, cheers 🥂
Thank you! 🥂
The pleasure is all mine, wishing you a lovely day! 🥂🙏
If we don't indulge ourselves, who will? But, like all things in life, moderation is our friend.
I'll check out that Mother's Day piece. Sounds funny.
Yeah... I courted moderation in earnest for 40 years.
My review: "Meh. It's okay, I guess." 2 stars. And that's me being generous.
Thanks for stopping by. 🙂 Your life coach witticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks so much for reading and indulging with me, Claire!
Both are you, the veil is just in the middle, and moveable.....

Thank you, Jason!
I like the freedom of poetry. And the movement you can create with different structure and formatting.
It feels a bit rebellious for me and I like that part, too😊.
I believe that writing poetry in our world today is a very rebellious, punk rock thing to do!
This is excellent. I to write an eclectic mix of genres. And poetry. My readers haven't strung me up yet. 😉
Hooray for eclecticism!
Thank you so much for reading, Dascha. 💜
Not indulgent at all! Perhaps the poem is a veil for the story underneath...
An astute observation, Graham. 😉
I loved your poem today - amazing! I saw you in many different veils throughout the poem. Keep up the good reads!
Thank you so much, April! I'm happy you enjoyed the piece. 💜

Aww. Yay. 😊 So glad this one hooked you.
Yes. Indulgence is essential... from time to time. 🙂
